LOVE YOUR SKIN - 3 Tips For Glowing Skin This Winter

February is for love... and that includes loving your skin! We all love a glowing and hydrated complexion but winter weather can make that difficult to achieve - especially if a pandemic is making it harder for you to visit the spa for regular facials. That’s okay though - you can still take great care of your skin from home until you are ready to come back. Here are some suggestions to get you through the winter, and keep you hydrated and glowing.

Use an overnight mask. You’re probably familiar with facial masks and may even use them occasionally, but did you know that there are masks that you can wear all night for added hydration? Our favorite overnight mask is packed with hyaluronic acid, and blue-green algae extract (a natural retinoid alternative) that helps to smooth skin and diminish wrinkles. Wake up with intensely hydrated and glowing skin. It doesn’t get much easier than this.

Add a serum. Serums have a smaller molecular structure and are able to reach deeper layers of the skin where cells can make the best use of them. Adding a serum packed with hyaluronic acid can bring moisture to the skin. Hyaluronic acid holds a thousand times its weight in water! Your serum should be applied after cleansing and before moisturizing. You’ll want it to be the closest thing to your skin so it can penetrate easily and offer optimal performance.

Use a heavier moisturizer. A light moisturizer may work for you during the summer

months but it should definitely be swapped for something heavier during the dry winter months. Our favorite includes ingredients like glasswort oil which has an anti-drying effect. If your skin is dry, flaky and red, it’s time for a heavier moisturizer.

If you are ready to return to the spa for regular facials, rest assured that at Ocean Spa Beauty & Wellness, sanitation has always been a top priority. We have placed hospital grade air-purifiers in each room. All high traffic areas, treatment surfaces and esthetic tools are regularly sanitized with a biodegradable and non-irritating disinfectant. All linens are changed between each client and appointment times are staggered to adhere to social distancing protocols. Masks are required in the spa and may only be removed for services when your esthetician or massage therapist advises you to do so.
